DUCCIO TAGLIAFERRI, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Duccio Tagliaferri grew up playing soccer in the streets of Naples, Italy. When he was 12 years old his family moved to Florence, Italy where he played at the local club level. When he was 14, he was recruited and played soccer at the semi-professional level for a team just outside of Florence. He was forced to step away from the game only a few years later with a serious knee injury.
After moving to the United States with his wife and oldest daughter, Duccio became an assistant coach for the Sunnyslope High School Varsity Boys team in Phoenix, Arizona. Shortly after, the family relocated to the beautiful Pacific Northwest where Duccio coached for the Westside Timbers for 5 years serving as a Head coach and Assistant coach. He also served as both Coach and Director of Portland Thorns Regional Training Center as well as the Portland Thorns ODP Head Coach 2007 age group. Duccio was also the head coach for the 2009 squad at the Portland Thorns Pre-Academy. In addition, he was the Tigard High School Girls Varsity Head Coach for three years.
In 2019, Duccio had the privilege of becoming the Director of Coaching for Southside Soccer Club where he got the chance to work with a great staff in a fabulous community. When not coaching, Duccio likes to spend time with his wife, Jen, and their three daughters Maddy, Anna and Diletta. He also enjoys cooking, taking walks, traveling and of course watching soccer.
