Program Overview

ALBION Development Academy (ADA) is a stepping stone for U8-U10 players (2013-2015 birth year) who are looking to play soccer in a structured, professional environment with experienced and licensed coaches. This is a program that is best suited for players that have had a season or two of recreational soccer experience. Players should be able to stay focused and follow directions for the duration of each training session/game with only a few reminders to stay on task. This is a seasonal program offered in both the fall and the spring. Players may choose to play in one or both of the sessions; participation in one session is not dependent on participation in the previous session.

ADA is centered on a sound philosophy for developing technical and tactical skills that are age appropriate. Players are introduced to the habits, productive attitudes, and highest playing standards required to become a well-rounded athlete. In these age groups, teams are trained to constantly develop their technical, tactical, physical, and mental skills. In addition to basic skills and understanding, players will learn to create opportunities for themselves and others by learning to play as part of a team.

Our coaching staff represents a variety of both grassroots and high-level playing experience, having competed for local & elite youth, collegiate, semi-pro, and professional teams throughout the United States and abroad. Many ADA coaches have earned USSF National Licenses, United Soccer Coaches Diplomas, and also coach for local high school and elite state programs. This diverse combination of playing and coaching experience adds unique perspectives to the developmental and collaborative culture of our club.

Program Schedule

ALBION Development Academy is a seasonal program, meaning players can play in either the fall or spring or both, but they are not bound to a year-round commitment.

ADA FALL session teams will start training in August and will practice twice a week in the Tigard/Tualatin area for the duration of their session and will participate in the Oregon Youth Soccer Association (OYSA) Developmental League this spring (8 games). The season will conclude towards the end of October.

ADA SPRING session teams will start training in February and will practice twice a week in the Tigard/Tualatin area for the duration of their season (Winter/Spring) and will participate in the OYSA Developmental League in the Spring (8 games). This session typically concludes at the end of April.

Both Fall and Spring OYSA Development games will be on Sundays and are typically at Delta Park, Sherwood Middle School (formerly Sherwood High School), or Wilsonville High School. Teams usually consist of 10-12 players and play 7v7 format with six field players and a goalie. There is no required travel outside of the Portland metropolitan area for ADA teams.

  • Games location based on OYSA designated field availability to possibly include locations in Beaverton, Delta Park and/or Sherwood though our teams will most likely play their games in Beaverton
  • Players are placed based on a combination of birth year and skill level - No teammate requests.
  • Uniform is an additional cost. It includes a pair of shorts, a pair of socks, a home jersey and and away jersey. Shorts, socks and one jersey can be used for future seasons. One new jersey will need to be purchased each May.
